2013 February Prayer Update

We have some news to share that is difficult. Yesterday was Maggie’s oncology appointment and it did not go as we had hoped. We knew that with her kind of cancer (multiple myeloma), there would come the day a doctor would say that it was back to the point that it needs treatment, and yesterday was the day. However, with the broken leg/possible surgery, he wants to wait until we see the orthopedic doctor next week. Chemo would interfere with the healing process, so if she needs surgery, we need to do it ASAP and then begin chemo.

We don’t need to push panic buttons, but we do now have dates for the future and know certain things are coming sooner rather than later. There is a new drug that can slow the progression. He also talked about another bone marrow transplant. In other words, there are options.

But we know that all the options are held in the Lord’s hands. We are so thankful for you and how you have prayed for us. It was 2006 when we walked this road before, and God has granted us so many days and years beyond what we had dared to hope. He can do it again.

Please pray for us that we will be wise and seek the Lord each step. Pray also that we will be patient, and continue to praise Him for every day He gives us.  Know that we both love you —

Roger and Maggie
